Max Peterson

 Max E. Peterson, 70, of Delphi, died at 7:37 a.m. on Feb. 23, 2004, in Home Hospital.  He was admitted Feb. 17 and has been battling cancer for almost two years.
  Born in Carroll County on Nov. 8, 1933, he was the son of Thomas and Opal Metz Peterson, and was a 1951 graduate of Delphi High School.
  His marriage was to Delores Kesler in Carroll County on Dec. 31, 1960, and she died in August 1998.
  Mr. Peterson was a veteran of the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958.  He was a supply technician in the Indiana National Guard, 38th Division for 25 years stationed at Danville and Indianapolis.
  He and his wife owned and operated Max & Dee's Bar-n-Burner restaurant in Danville for eight years.  He was the chef at Cracker Barrel Restaurant in Lafayette for seven years, and also cooked at The Landmark Restaurant in Pittsburg for several years.
  Mr. Peterson was a member of The Delphi American Legion Post #75, Delphi VFW #9383 and Radnor United Methodist Church.  He enjoyed gardening, fishing and traveling.
  Surviving are two sons, Tony Peterson of Danville and Scott Peterson of Delphi; two brothers, Donald Peterson and William "Bill" Peterson, both of Delphi; and four grandchildren.
  He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
  Visitation is today (Wednesday) from 4 to 8 p.m. at Abbott Funeral Home.  Services will be there on Feb. 26 at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Dan Gottschalk will officiate, and burial will be at Musselman Cemetery in Camden.
  Memorials may be made to Carroll County Cancer Association.
