Jack Stoner

Jack L. Stoner, 62, of Delphi, died unexpectedly at 3:48 p.m. Jan. 9, 1997, in the emergency room at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lafayette.
  Born Oct. 11, 1934, in Delphi, he was the son of Carl V. and Opal Derena Isaacs Stoner.
  He was a 1953 graduate of Delphi High School.
  His marriage was on Dec. 10, 1953, in Delphi, to Marcia J. Mills, who survives.
  He worked at Alcoa in Lafayette for 40 years, retiring in 1993.
  He was a member of Delphi Christian Church, where he was an elder and trustee and had held several offices in the church.  He was a member of the Alcoa 25-Year Club, serving as president in 1983, and a member of Alcoa Retirees Club.
  Also surviving are one son, Jack L. Stoner, Jr. of Lafayette; a daughter, Jeannie L. Boelter of St. Paul, Minn.; his mother, Opal Stoner Sledge, of Delphi; two brothers, Donald Stoner of Delphi and Carl Stoner of Lafayette; and three grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a daughter, two grandchildren, and a sister.
  Services were Monday at the Delphi Christian Church with Pastor Paul Mullikin officiating.  Burial was in Masonic Cemetery, Delphi. Abbott Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
