Joe D. Myers, 80, of Delphi, died Mon.-Feb. 16, 2015 at 6:20pm at IU Health Arnett Hospital-Laf. He was born Jan. 14, 1935 in Lafayette, to the late Albert & Hazel Brewer Myers. His marriage was to Frances M. Martin, in Kansas City, MO, on Mar. 10, 1956, and she preceded him in death on Nov. 9, 2012. He was a 1953 graduate of Delphi High School. Since graduating from high school, he always had an interest in auto mechanics. He worked at local service stations in Delphi for many years, then purchased Myers Southside Shell in Monticello in 1975, and owned and operated it until his retirement in 1988. He was a former Volunteer Fireman for the Delphi Fire Department, and a former member of the Delphi American Legion. He enjoyed NASCAR and driver Jimmy Johnson, and the Indianapolis Colts football team. Surviving: daughters-Katrina & Kevin Young of Waterford, MI, Kim & Kevin Cripe of Delphi; sons: Dennis & Tracey Myers, Danny J. Myers both of Delphi; brother: John & Mary Myers of Phoenix, AZ; 7 grandchildren & 6 great grandchildren survive. Preceded in death by 1 sister & 4 brother's.
