Charles Fauset - Class Of 1934

Charles E. Fauset, 90, formerly of Flagstaff, died at home in Cottonwood on Friday, April 27, 2007.

Mr. Fauset was born Jan. 29, 1917, to Clyde and Anna (Downs) Fauset in Logansport, Ind. He graduated from Delphi High School, then attended Indiana State and Indiana University, receiving his Ph.D. He was a professor and the dean of the College of Education at Northern Arizona University. He also served his country during World War II as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army.

He loved teaching, but he also had many interests, filling his time with a variety of activities, like playing bridge, golfing, walking, reading, fishing, traveling, listening to music and watching sports on television. Most of all though, he loved being with his family. He was the greatest dad in world.

Mr. Fauset is survived by sons, Chris (Renee) Fauset of Flagstaff, and Craig Fauset of Corpus Christi, Texas; daughters, Carol (John) Cook of Ritzville, Wash., and Cathy (Jimmy) Mullenax of Aransas Pass, Texas; sister, Mary Brooks and a niece, both of Oberlin, Kan.; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, with the 15th on the way.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Chrystal Fauset; and his parents.

A memorial service will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Cottonwood Village.
