Dale E. Young, 68, died in his Lafayette residence Tuesday, Dec. 27, 1983, apparently of a heart attack. Born in Delphi, he had lived in Lafayette the past 37 years. He was married in 1947 in Lafayette to Pauline Hicks, who died in 1970. Mr. Young served with the Army in the Pacific during World War II. For the past 37 years he had been in the upholstery business here. He was a member of American Legion Post 175 in Delphi. Surviving are a son, John D. Young of Chalmers; a daughter, Kay (Mrs. Estel) Vibbert of Flora; two sisters, Alma Garrison of Clearwater, FL, and Gladys (Mrs. Hubert) Woodrum of Burlington; a brother, Everett Young of Lafayette; and five grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother. -
