Loyal Hoshaw

 Loyal Hoshaw, 57, former principal of the Delphi junior high school and teacher in several schools of the county, died suddenly at 4:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Veterans hospital in Indianapolis after suffering a heart attack shortly after noon while at work.
  A veteran of both World War I and II, Mr. Hoshaw was serving as director of the student placement division for the Veterans Administration at Indianapolis, a position he had held for eight years.
  A native of Carroll county, he was born April 10, 1895, the son of George and Alice (Wilson) Hoshaw.
  After leaving Delphi where he had served as principal, he was principal of the Renselaer and Lawrenceburg high schools.  He was a member of the American Legion, the Masonic Order and the Methodist church.
  Surviving are: the wife, the former Fern Stone; two sons, Lt. Richard Hoshaw, with the U.S. Navy at Great Lakes, Ill., and Lowell Hoshaw, U.S. Navy in Hawaii, and a brother, Paul Hoshaw, Los Angeles, Calif.
  Funeral services were held at 2:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Dorsey Funeral home at Indianapolis.  Burial was made in Masonic cemetery at Delphi where short services were held and attended by many Carroll County friends.
  Those from here attending the services at Indianapolis were Mr. and Mrs. Harve Hoshaw, Mrs. John Kirkpatrick, Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Hoshaw, Mrs. Jay Whiteman and daughter, Ruth, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Templin and Mr. and Mrs. Leo C. Craig.  Mrs. Whiteman, Mrs. Templin and Mrs. and Mrs. Craig were with Mrs. Hoshaw at St. Vincent hospital, following the services.  She had undergone major surgery there the previous Wednesday.
