Geraldine Arnold (Rex)

Geraldine B. Arnold Rex, 90, formerly of 604 N. Indiana St., Delphi, and the Delphi Senior Apartments, died at 12:14 p.m. on Nov. 26, 2005, at Milner Healthcare Center in Rossville, where she had been a resident since July. Born in Carroll County on Feb. 10, 1915, she was the daughter of George and Pearl Yelton Arnold. She was a 1933 graduate of Delphi High School. Her marriage was to Oliver Rex on Sept. 6, 1933, in Rockfield and he died Feb. 20, 1984. Mrs. Rex was a homemaker and worked at the former Sunday Castle in Delphi for a year. She also worked for the former Beasley's Department Store in Delphi as a sales clerk for 11 years. She was a member of St. Matthew's. Lutheran Church in Delphi, where she taught Sunday school and was the Sunday school superintendent for over 30 years. Mrs. Rex belonged to the Modem Homemakers Home Economics Club, and was a past president. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, crafts, reading and was an avid Purdue University girls basketball fan. Surviving are a daughter, Marjorie Draper (husband: Robert) of Delphi; a sister, Georgia Lentner (husband: Robert) of Lafayette; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Judith Kay Miller, and a brother, James. Friends may call today from 10 a.m. until the funeral at 11 a.m. at Abbott Funeral Home in Delphi. Rev. Dale Larson will officiate, and burial will be at IOOF Cemetery in Delphi.
