Charles Clay Briggs

 Charles Clay Briggs, 78, of Delphi, died at 10:30 a.m. April 12, 1994, at his residence.
  Born June 19, 1915, in Carroll County, he was the son of George and Edna Doolittle Briggs.  His marriage was on July 18, 1950, in Miami, Fla., to Marion Robbins, who survives.
  He worked for 21 years for the U.S. Postal Service in Delphi, retiring in 1981.  Before that, he worked at Alcoa for several years.
  He was a 1933 graduate of Delphi High School and was a World War II Army veteran.
  He was a former member of the Delphi Christian Church.
  He enjoyed the railroad and its history.
  He was preceded in death by one half-brother.
  Services were Saturday at Horn Funeral Home with Rev. James Rankin officiating.  Burial was in Hickory Grove Cemetery, Rt. 1, Delphi.
  Memorials may be made to the Delphi Public Library.
