Evelyn Harner (Zook)

Evelyn Harner Zook, 100, of Delphi passed away at her daughter's home surrounded by family on March 4, 2015.

Evelyn was born on Nov. 23, 1914 in Frankfort to the late Wallace B. and Anna (Campbell) Young. Evelyn was raised by her adopted parents, Charles and Julie Harner. She was a 1933 graduate of Delphi High School.

Evelyn married Truman I. Zook on Nov. 17. 1934 in Delphi and he preceded her on Sept. 8, 1999.

Mrs. Zook was a homemaker and helped with the family farm.

She was a member of the Radnor United Methodist Church, Leisure Ladies Club, Rebekah Lodge, and the Tipwa Grange at Radnor.

Evelyn loved time spent with her family and friends and they will greatly miss their time with her. Her hobbies were crocheting doilies and afghans, and doing puzzles.

She is survived by daughters: Rosalyn Scott (Richard) and Mertha Foster Tague (Jerry) of Lafayette; daughter-in-law, Peggy Zook; 22 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, 32 great-great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded by her son, Harold Zook, son-in-law, Gene Foster, and 2 sisters and 3 brothers.

Visitation will be on Sunday, March 8, 2015 from 4-8 p.m. at Davidson Funeral Home and 1 hour prior to services there on Monday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ed Selvidge officiating. Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Flora, IN.

Memorial Contributions in her memory may be made to the Radnor UMC.
