Ida Fae Hobaugh (Vanderwielen)

Ida Fae (Hobaugh) Vanderwielen, 98, of Lafayette, passed away at 11 p.m. on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at Cumberland Pointe Health Care. Born May 2, 1916 in Delphi, IN, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Anna (Dunn) Hobaugh. She was a graduate of Delphi High School.

Ida was the head cook for food services at Purdue University. She was a member of Lafayette Christian Reformed Church where she was active in the Ladies Aid and Bible study.

Surviving are her two daughters, Bonnie L. Silcox (husband, Arnold) and Marjorie E. Harlan and her son, Richard L. Mitchell (wife, Beverly) all of Lafayette. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles G. Mitchell, second husband, Harry Vanderwielen, a son, Michael H. Mitchell, and 3 grandchildren.
