Eva Vivian Long (McKimson)

Mrs. Vivian (Long) McKimson, 48, formerly of Delphi, died in Iroquois Hospital, Watseka, Ill., at 7:25 a.m. Tuesday after an illness of five years. She was the wife of Verne McKimson and the family home is 290 West Center St. Sheldon, Ill. Born at Delphi, she was graduated from high school here and was married in Missouri in 1941. She was a member and past worthy matron of Sheldon Chapter 485, Order of Eastern Star, and was employed as an operator by the General Telephone Co. for 19 years before her retirement three years ago because of illness. Surviving with the husband are two sons, Michael and Jack, at home; her mother, Mrs. John Long of Logansport; five brothers, Ruben Long of Kokomo, Bert and Eugene Long of Logansport, Merle Long of Miami Beach, Fla. and S/Sgt. John H. Long of Lawton, Okla.; and seven sisters, Mrs. Agnes Reed, Mrs. Margaret Kempf and Mrs. Anna Bussell, all of Delphi, Mrs. Betty Boone, Mrs. Hazel Herr and Mrs. Freida Aveline, all of Lafayette, and Mrs. George Hill of Hickam Field, Hawaii. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Powers Funeral Home in Sheldon with interment there.
