Mary Catherine Ward, 85, of Delphi, died at 10 a.m. Aug. 25, 2001, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette.
  Born Oct. 5, 1916, in Delphi, she was the daughter of Frank W. and Elizabeth Brooks Morrow.  She was married on March 20, 1941, in Phoenix, Ariz., to Joseph E. Ward, who died Aug. 19, 2000.
  A graduate of Delphi High School, Mrs. Ward and her husband owned Smith Sweeper Service in Lafayette.
  She was a secretary at the Delphi Presbyterian Church and a clerk at the former Specialty Shop in Delphi.
  She was a member of the Delphi Presbyterian Church and the church choir and women's circle and was also active in various church and community activities.
  Surviving are two daughters, Sandi Davis of Lisle, Ill., and Jeane Elliott of Cincinnati, Ohio; one son, Tom Ward of Cincinnati; two sisters, Josephine White of Lafayette and Bethel Baird of Shippensburg, Pa.; and four grandchildren.  Two sisters preceded her in death.
  Services were held Tuesday at the Delphi Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Ellis Gasser officiating.  Burial was in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Flora.
  Memorials may be made to the Delphi Presbyterian Church or to the American Heart Association.
  Davidson Funeral Home, Delphi, was in charge of arrangements.
