Herbert (Herb) F. Garver, 66, Delphi, died June 23, 1983, at 1:03 a.m. in his home after a two year illness.
  Born May 3, 1917 in Beacon, he was the son of Robert and Lulu Shanks Garver.  His marriage June 23, 1940, was to Mary Jane Mount in Delphi.  She survives.
  A 1936 graduate of Delphi High School, he had attended Western State college in Kalamazoo, Mich.  He was co-owner of the former Mount and Son Hardware with which he was associated from 1946 until his retirement in 1981.
  He was a member of Blue Ball Church in Cass County, Mt. Olive Masonic Lodge and Odd Fellows Lodge in Delphi, Indiana deputy sheriff's Association and a lifetime member of Moose Lodge.
  Surviving with the wife is one niece, Sister Patricia Jean, of South Bend.  One sister and one brother preceded him in death.
  Funeral services were Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Horn Funeral Home in Delphi with Pastor Paul Davis and Rev. James Rankin officiating.  Burial was in Masonic Cemetery.  Odd Fellows services were Friday evening at the funeral home.
