Marjorie Ann Scales (Welker Brown)

Mrs. Marjorie Ann Welker Brown, 73, of 418 W. Jefferson, Monticello, departed this life at 4:09 p.m. on Thursday. February 20, 1992, at Regional Medical Center. Leesburg, Florida. She had been seriously ill five days, and passed away following surgery. Born near Idaville, Indiana, on April 26,1916, she was the daughter of Perry Scales and Lulu Runkle. She first married Louis A. Welker In Delphi on September 3, 1937, and he preceded her in passing on January 19, 1979. She then married Robert E. Brown In Monticello on January 27,1990, and he survives. Mrs. Brown had resided In White County all of her life, primarily In the Monticello community. She had been employed for the Twin Lakes High School as a Cook for over 20 years, and had been a volunteer at White County Memorial Hospital and Monticello Healthcare Center for several years. She was a member of the Monticello Christian Church. Surviving with her husband, Robert E. Brown, are three daughters. Mrs. Dennis (Sandra Jo) Randal of Crown Point, Indiana. Mrs. Paul (Sharon Lee) Wiseman of Monticello, and Mrs. Thomas (Linda Eileen) Brown of Lowell; two sons. Richard K. Welker of Route 1 Idaville, and Ronald D. Welker of Royal Center; one sister, Mrs. LaMar (Lucille) Parrish of Monticello; 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in passing by one brother, Everett Scales. Services for Mrs. Marjorie Ann Welker Brown were held on Monday, February 24. 1992, at Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home, Monticello, the Rev. Donald Arterburn officiating. Burial was In the Davis Cemetery, Burnettsville. Delphi Sun Journal February 26, 1992
