Howard G. Shaffer

Howard G. Shaffer, 75, of Rt. 2, Monticello, died at 9:15 p.m. April 11, 1993, at Orlando Regional Medical Center, Orlando, Fla.
  Born April 15, 1917, in Carroll County, he was the son of Larry Ray and Ethel Griffith Shaffer.  His marriage was on June 28, 1988, in Yeoman, to Ina Kroywobok Small, who survives.
  He was a 1936 graduate of Delphi High School.
  He retired from Alcoa in 1978, after working there 39 years.
  He was a member of Lafayette Alcoa Retirees Club, Mount Olive Lodge 48 of Delphi, Murat Shrine, and Scottish Rite, Indianapolis Valley.  He also bowled in the Mixed Leagues at the Delphi Bowling Alley.
  Also surviving are one step-daughter, Martha M. Martin of Delphi; three stepsons, Gregory A. Small of Lafayette, Arthur P. Small of Wichita, Kans., and James K. Small of Cloverdale; two sisters, Mary Helen Shaffer of Delphi and Ruth Smith of Monticello; a brother, William E. Shaffer of New Castle; 10 step grandchildren and one step great-granddaughter.  He was preceded in death by one sister.
  Services were Friday at Horn Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Ashley officiating.  Burial was in Masonic Cemetery.
  Memorials may be made to the Shriners' Crippled Children's Hospital.
