Wilma Smeltzer (Laprad)

Mrs. Wilma Laprad of Rossville passed away at her residence at 11:40 a.m. Sunday after a lingering illness. Born June 8, 1918, in Carroll County, she was the daughter of Floyd and Emma Wagoner Smeltzer. She was married February 26, 1939, to Fred Laprad. She assisted her husband in the Insurance Agency at Rossville. Mrs. Laprad was graduated in 1936 from Delphi High School and was a member of the Rossville Church of the Brethren and Women’s Auxiliary of Gideon’s International. Surviving with the husband are a son, Stephen, at home; a daughter, Mrs. Freida Latshaw of Rt. 7, Frankfort; two sisters, Mrs. Marie Wolf and Mrs. Mabel Oliver, both of Rt. 1, Rossville; a stepbrother, Donald Wagoner of Rt. 1, Rossville; her stepmother, Mrs. Ethel Smeltzer of Rossville, and a grandson, Phillip Latshaw. Funeral services were Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Brown Funeral Chapel in Rossville. The Rev. Willard Grant officiated and was assisted by Rev. H. F. Richards. Interment was in Rossville Cemetery.
