Opal Shultheis (Campbell) - Class Of 1937

 Opal M. Campbell, 90, of Delphi, died at 12:40 a.m. Friday, May 1, 2009, at Milner's Community Health Care Center in Rossville.  She had been a resident there since December.
  Born Jan. 15, 1919, in Carroll County, she was the daughter of Marvin and Ida Schutz Shultheis.  She was a 1937 graduate of Delphi High School.  Her marriage was on Feb. 22, 1941, in Morocco, to O. Charles Campbell, who preceded her in death Jan. 22, 1998.
  Mrs. Campbell was a homemaker and worked as a bookkeeper at REMC and Burkle & Campbell.
  She was a long-time member of the Pyrmont United Methodist Church and recently attended the Delphi Presbyterian Church.  She was a charter member of the Modern Homemaker's Club.
  She loved sewing, cross-stitching and cooking.
  Surviving are two daughters, Doreanne Deweese (husband: Rex) of Rossville and Elaine Hathaway (husband: Gary) of Delphi; a son Norman S. Campbell (wife: Diana) of Pittsboro; six grandchildren, Ross and Linda Deweese of Port St. Lucie, Fla; Renee Perry of Jeffersonville, David and Molly Campbell, Pam and Paul Walters, and Ryan and Anita Deweese, all of Brownsburg, and Alyson and Gary Hathaway Jr. of Clovis, N.M.; and 11 great-grandchildren.
  Preceding her in death was a brother, Orville Shultheis, and an infant son, Jay.
  Services were held Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home in Delphi.  Pastor Bill McLean officiated.  Burial following at the Pyrmont Cemetery.
