She is the daughter of Frederick C. Smith and sister to Virginia Smith Thoma. Martha Helen (Smith) Ludberg in her 96th year, passed away on August 13, 2014 at Albright Manor, Beamsville, Ontario. Predeceased by James Everett Ludberg (2003) her husband of 63 years. Dear mother of Lawrence Ludberg (Judi), Janice Ludberg (Joseph Levreault), Linda Hill (Rick 2001), Charles Ludberg (Kathy) and the late James Ludberg (Margaret). Loving grandmother of 11, great-grandmother of 13 and great-great-grandmother of 5. She will be fondly remembered by brother Richard Smith (Hobart, Indiana) and several nieces and nephews. Helen valued education, conservation and human rights. A talent for artistic design was expressed through many hobbies. A Memorial Service to honour and celebrate Helen’s life will be held at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Sunday, September 14, 2014. Visitation will take place from 1-3 p.m. with Service at 3 p.m. The family would like to thank staff at Albright Manor for their compassionate care and support.
