Dale Cain - Class Of 1937

 

Services were Tuesday at Horn Funeral Home, Delphi, for Dale "Sug" Cain, Rt. 1, Delphi, 66, who died Saturday, Aug. 17, 1985, at St. Elizabeth Hospital.  He had been admitted two hours earlier.

    Born Aug. 21, 1918, in Delphi, his parents were Isaac and Ethel Andrew Cain.  His marriage was to Lura Randolph in Winchester Dec. 11, 1938.  She survives.

    He was employed with Ironworkers Local No. 379 in Lafayette for 35 years retiring in 1981.  A graduate of Delphi High School in 1937, he served in the Army during World War II.

   Mr. Cain attended the Delphi United Methodist Church and was a member of Delphi American Legion Post No. 75.  He served as a member of the Delphi Community School Corpration board from 1973 to 1976.

   Surviving with the wife are one daughter, Mrs. Howard (Linda) Koekenberg, Monticello; one son, Alan D., Monticello; two sisters, Nellie Mullendore and Mildred Daniels of Logansport; and one grandson.  One infant daughter and one brother preceded in death.

   Burial with American Legion rites was in IOOF Memorial Gardens near Pittsburg.  Rev. Donald Ashley officiated.  Memorials may be made to the Heart Fund.
