Ralph Robinson Gerbens - Class Of 1938

  Ralph Gerbens, 59, Delphi, died at 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, 1980 at his residence.
  He was born in Carroll County, Oct. 9, 1920 to Martin and Sara Robinson Gerbens.  He was married in Delphi, Nov. 4, 1939 to Faye Peterson, who survives.
  He was a Certified Waste Water Treatment Plant Operator, Class II, and was employed by the City of Delphi as wastewater superintendent until his retirement last year.  He served in that capacity for eight years and was with the water department a total of 20 years.
  A lifelong resident of Delphi, he was a member of the Mount Olive Masonic Lodge No. 48.
  Surviving with the wife are three daughters, Connie Stark, Columbia, S.C.; Linda Ross, Phoenix, Ariz.; and Marilyn McKnight, Flora; two brothers, Jetse Gerbens, Lafayette; and Albert Gerbens, Phoenix, Ariz.; and eight grand-children.
  One grandchild is deceased.
  Services were held Sunday at the Jackson Funeral Home with the Rev. Ray Nelson officiating.  Burial was held at the Masonic Cemetery in Delphi.
