Jessie Edith Hathaway (Allen) - Class Of 1938

Jessie Edith Allen, 93, of Franklin, passed away April 15, 2014. The daughter of Earl William and Hazel Marie McClellan Hathaway, Jessie was born November 27, 1920 in Idaville, Indiana.  A homemaker, she was a member of the Pleasant Homemakers, Radner United Methodist Church, Radner, Indiana and attended the Community Church of Greenwood. Jessie loved gardening, reading, baking and all the family gatherings. Jessie is survived by son, Jeff (Julie) Allen of Whiteland; daughters, Karen (Charles) McDaniel of Bargersville and Janet Curry of Whiteland; grandchildren, Kristy (Ken) Donley of Indianapolis, Angie (Phil) Christian of Indianapolis, Jeff Curry of Whiteland, Greg Curry of Hauppauge, New York, Andy Allen of Whiteland and Lindsay Allen of Trafalgar; great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Sears, Claire Donley, Elijah Christian, Liam Christian, Eliana Christian, Nicolaus Curry, Tennyson Curry, Kylie Choate, Erin Choate, Brantley Jeffers and Gavin Allen; brothers, Orville Hathaway of Delphi, George Hathaway of Delphi, Marion Hathaway of Camden and Wayne Hathaway of Kokomo; sisters, Nellie Peters of Camden, Lucille Geisler of Burnettsville and Edna Capper of Monticello; brother-in-law, Tom Kempf; sisters-in-law, Jane Hathaway and Suzanne Hathaway. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles C. Allen; brothers, Donald, Russell, Thomas, Robert and Richard Hathaway; sisters, Thelma Peters, Ruby Kempf and Faye Eyestone and son-in-law, Neff Curry. Dr. Charles McDaniel will conduct funeral services 4:00 p.m. April 19, 2014 in Forest Lawn Funeral Home – 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood, where friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Private burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
