Marilyn Holloway (Smith) - Class Of 1938

  Marilyn Holloway Smith, 71, of Rt. 1, Delphi, died at 8:45 p.m. April 16, 1992, at her residence following an eight month illness.
  Born Aug. 16, 1920, in Yeoman, she was the daughter of Ross P. and Faye Baum Holloweay.  She lived in the Delphi and Yeoman communities all of her life.
  Her marriage was on Oct. 17, 1944, in Yeoman, to Garnette L. Smith, who survives.
  She was a 1938 graduate of Delphi High School and attended Arthur Jordan Conservatory of Music in Indiandapolis.
  She began teaching dance after high school and taught until the early 1960s.  She owned studios in Logansport and Delphi.
  She and her husband owned and operated Hollow Acres Golf Course at Yeoman.  They built it in 1960 and retired in 1986.
  She was a member of Yeoman United Methodist Church, Psi Iota Xi Sorority, Delphi American Legion Auxiliary, and Carroll County Country Club.  She also was active in the bridge circles in the Delphi area.
  Also surviving are one son, Judge Jeffery R. Smith of Delphi; a daughter, Susan Vogel of Monticello; and four granddaughters.
  Services were Monday at Yeoman United Methodist Church with Rev. Mildred McCan and Rev. Bruce Mowery officiating.
  Burial was in Yeoman Cemetery.  Horn Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
  Memorials may be made to the Yeoman United Methodist Church or the Carroll County Cancer Association.
