Richard Thompson - Class Of 1938

Richard Thompson, 48, of 4905 Hazel Avenue, Fair Oaks, Calif., a native of Delphi, died Saturday in Mercy Hospital in San Juan, Calif., following a lingering illness. A veteran of World War II, he was a graduate of Delphi High School and Purdue University. Mr. Thompson, a design engineer, had been employed with the Aerojet Company, Inc. at Sacramento. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and held a duplicate Life master’s rating in bridge. Funeral services were held Monday in the Mt. Vernon Mortuary at Citrus Heights, Calif., and burial was there. Survivors include the widow, the former Martha Ann Crook of Yeoman; his mother, Mrs. Cloyd Thompson, and a brother, Robert, both of New York City; two sisters, Mrs. Stella Weathers, Indianapolis, and Mrs. Marjorie Marshall, Los Angeles, and four children. His father preceded him in death last January.
