DONALD L. GILLIAM, 88, passed away Monday, Sept. 24, 2007, at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne. He was a resident of The Towne House. Born in Yeoman, Ind., he was an Industrial Engineer with International Harvester for 42 years, retiring in 1982. He graduated from Delphi High School in 1938 and International Business College in 1940. He was a member of Forest Park United Methodist Church and Three Rivers Masonic Lodge 733 F&AM. He loved his family and was involved in his grandchildren's activities. He also enjoyed gardening and fishing. Survivors include daughter, Donna Jean (Jerry) Garver of Columbia City; son, Kevin R. (Jennifer) Gilliam of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Joshua, Scott, Elizabeth Gilliam, David Maurer, and Brian Woodward; five great-grand-children; and two stepchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives, Jeanette Tribolet, in 1973 and Frances Hobson, in 1999; daughter, Kathleen Joy Maurer; and a grandson, Jeff Woodward. Service is 10 a.m. Friday at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road. The Rev. Brenda Ginder officiating. Calling is from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery. Memorials to American Cancer Society.
