Bob Jackson - Class Of 1946

Rensselaer Republican 26 Dec 1989 Robert Jackson Robert Lee Jackson, 61, of Rt. 4, Rensselaer, died at 8:25 a.m. Sunday at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette. The son of the late Olaf M. Jackson and Mary L. Troxell Jackson, was a veteran of the U.S. Army and Korean War, and the elevator manager at the Jasper County Farm Co-op. Jackson, formerly of Bringhurst, Ind., was a resident of Rensselaer since 1952. He attended Carroll County Schools and graduated from Delphi High School in 1946. While serving in the Korean Conflict, he received a Purple Heart. Jackson married Berneice R. Warren Jackson, who survives, April 12, 1953 in Rensselaer. He previously operated Jackson Mobile Feed Service for 12 years and had worked for 10 years with the Jasper County Farm Co-op. In addition to his wife, also surviving are a son, Brian D. Jackson of Rensselear; two daughters, Mrs. Cherly C. Ekstrom of Rensselaer; Mrs. Richard "Doris" D Foley of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, two sisters, Mrs. Bonnie Richardson of Lafayette and Mrs. Suzi Myers of Flora, and a brother, William Jackson of Delphi. Five grandchildren also survive. Calls may be made during visitation after 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Jackson Funeral Chapel in Rensselaer. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Jackson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Donald Ruhl and Rev. Gregory Enstrom officiatng. Burial will be at the Memory Gardens Cemetery in Rensselaer.
