Roger Morris Capper, 77, of Monticello, died at 9:45 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2008, in Monticello.

Born June 11, 1930, in Brookston, he was the son of the late Harry G. and Helen Grace Dowell Capper. He was educated at Delphi High School and had resided in Monticello for the past 52 years, coming here from Delphi.

His marriage was March 26, 1955, in Delphi to Edna L. Hathaway. She survives.

Mr. Capper had worked in the core room at the former Globe Valve Corp. in Delphi, where he was employed for 431/2 years. He retired in 1993.

He was a member of Calvary Temple Church in Monticello. A veteran of the Navy, he served from Jan. 4, 1951, to Oct. 4, 1954, during the Korean War.

Surviving with his wife are a daughter, Penny L. Rector (husband: Marion) of Henderson, Nev.; a son, Terry M. Capper (wife: Debra) of Monticello; a sister, Norma Cain (husband: Roger) of Lafayette; and a brother, Jerry Capper (wife: Virginia) of Garland, Texas.
