Charles Dickinson

Charles Edward "Ed" Dickinson, 61, of Rt. 4, Delphi, died unexpectedly July 15, 1991, at his residence.
  He resided in the same house where he was born.  He was born May 1, 1930, the son of Lester D. and Irene Bougher Dickinson.  His marriage was on Nov. 29, 1951, in Delphi, to Patricia Fontinel, who survives.
  He farmed in Carroll County all his life.  He and his wife also owned and operated the Rossville Liquor Store for the past seven years.
  He was a 1948 graduate of Delphi High School and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict, from 1948-1951 and from 1952-1954.
  He was a member of the Delphi United Methodist Church, American Legion Post #75, and Carroll County Farm Bureau.  He was a member of the school board of Delphi Community Schools from 1972-1980 and served as secretary of the board.
  Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Cathie Butler of Rt. 1, Bringhurst, and Terri Brummett of Rt. 2, Camden; a son Don Dickinson of Rt. 4, Delphi; two brothers, William Dickinson of Rt. 1, Cutler, and James Dickinson of Mooresville; and seven grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by three infant sisters and one granddaughter.
  Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Horn Funeral Home with Rev. Alvin Grumbling officiating.  Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today.  Burial will be in Zion Cemetery.
  Memorials may be made to donor's favorite charity.
