Robert L. "Bob" Gerard, 68, of Delphi, died at 11:55 p.m. March 7, 1999, at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis, where he had been a patient since Feb. 18.
  Born July 12, 1930, in Carroll County, he was the son of Roger and Opal Leslie Gerard.  His marriage was on Sept. 17, 1950, in West Lafayette, to Lenora E. "Lee" Mackey, who survives.
  He was a 1947 graduate of Delphi High School.  He worked at Fairfield Manufacturing in Lafayette for 31 years, retiring in 1992.  Before that, he worked seven years at Alcoa in Lafayette.
  Mr. Gerard was a member of IOOF Lodge 28, Delphi, and was trustee of both the lodge and the cemetery.  He also was a member of All Seasons Coast To Coast Camping Club and Fairfield Retirees Club and Athletic Club.
  He attended Brady Lane Church of Christ in Lafayette.
  He enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing.
  Also surviving are two daughters, Janet Gerard of Lafayette and Brenda Welty of Avon; two sons, Michael Gerard and Ronald Gerard, both of Lafayette; a brother, Jack Gerard of Delphi; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
  Services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Horn Funeral Home with Chaplain Larry Whinnery officiating.  Friends may call today from 5-8 pm., with IOOF memorial services at 7:30.  Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery.
  Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
