Joan Bradshaw (Nelson)

  Joan B. Nelson, 75, of Delphi, died at 9:41 p.m. on Oct. 28, 2005, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lafayette.  Born in Lafayette on Feb. 15, 1930, she was the daughter of Howard W. and Arlyne Wishing Bradshaw.  She was a 1948 graduate of Delphi High School and a 1952 graduate of DePauw University.
  Her marriage was to David R. Nelson in Indianapolis on Nov. 10, 1961, and he died Jan. 14, 1987.
  Mrs. Nelson was the Carroll County Clerk for the Circuit Court for 20 years, retiring in 1993.  She was previously the buyer for L.S. Ayres for 10 years.
  She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Delphi, Kappa Kappa Kappa Sorority, Republican Women and was a former board member for the Delphi Public Library.
  Mrs. Nelson enjoyed playing bridge and reading.
  Surviving are two sons, David Nelson (wife: Tamara) of Indianapolis and Eric Nelson of Lafayette; a brother, William H. "Bill" Bradshaw (wife: Doretta) of Delphi; and three grandsons, Alexander, Andrew and Austin Nelson of Lafayette.
  Visitation will be today, Wednesday, at Davidson Funeral Home from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.  A special Kappa Kappa Kappa Sorority service will be held at 1:30 p.m. and regular service will begin at 2, with Pastor Kelly Furlong officiating.  Burial will be at IOOF Cemetery.
