James P. Scott, 83, of Burrows, passed away at 2:40 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at his residence.

Born July 28, 1930, in Carroll County, James was the son of the late Thomas B. and Helen (Parks) Scott. On Oct. 16, 1949, in Camden, he married Joan Wise, who survives.

James was a retired Carroll County farmer. He was a member of the Burrows Presbyterian Church, Mt. Zion Masonic Lodge #211, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, and Elks Lodge #66.

Surviving with his wife are one daughter, Susan (Bill) Trueblood, Camden; two sons, Richard (Patsy) Scott and Steven (Vicky) Scott, both of Camden; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two special friends, Eileen Berkshire, Logansport, and Robert Downham, Logansport.

One brother, John William Scott, and three sisters, Josephine Porter, Helen Larsen and Mary Copeland, preceded him in death.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, at Gundrum Funeral Home and Crematory, Logansport, with Pastor Jerry Long officiating. Burial will follow at Woodville Cemetery near Camden.
