Joan Wise (Scott)

Joan W. (Wise) Scott, 87, Logansport, passed away Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017, at Memorial Hospital in Logansport.

Born Feb. 24, 1930, in Carroll County, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Belva (Krathwohl) Wise. On Oct. 16, 1949, in Camden, she married James P. Scott, who preceded her in death Nov. 16, 2013.

Joan worked for Gangloff & Downham Trucking Co. and was also the former Postmaster in Burrows. She was a 1948 graduate of Delphi High School and attended the Bridge Community Church of Logansport.

Surviving is a daughter, Susan (Bill) Trueblood; two sons, Richard (Patsy) Scott and Steve Scott and Winona, all of Camden; grandchildren, John Allread, Washington, D.C.; Amanda (Brent Polzin) Scott, Burrows; Shawn (Samantha) Scott; Jason (Monica) Scott, all of Delphi; Sara (Kevin) Huff, Deer Creek; 12 great-grandchildren; several stepgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Clayton, Claude and Wilbur Wise; and a sister, Clarice Cushing.

A celebration of life will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 25, in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Zachary Szmara officiating. Burial will be in the Woodville Cemetery, Camden.
