Morris Craig - Class Of 1944

Morris Wayne Craig, age 91, of Marion, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at 8:10am at the Fairhaven Community, Upper Sandusky.

Morris was born March 13, 1926, in Carroll County, Indiana to Russell and Cecelia (Gant) Craig. He married Joan Viney on October 13, 1946, and she survives.

He is survived by 2 sons: Ralph (Ruth Ann) Craig of Marion, David (Rosemary) Craig of Morral. 7 grandchildren: Commander Andrew (Karla) Craig of Fallon, Nevada, Russell (Jennifer) Craig of Upper Sandusky, Cindy (Pat) Frey of Columbus, Jennifer Hansford of Upper Sandusky, Matt (Jessica) Craig of Morral, Sean (Nikki) Starner of Marion, and Angie (Aaron) Sample of Lexington Park, Maryland. 16 great grandchildren: Kaylee, Keagan, Jonathon, Joshua, and Alex Craig, Dominic, Gabriella, and Cameron Frey, Maci Craig, Cullen and Emilia Craig, Bryce and Whitney Starner, Bennett, Everett, and Graham Sample.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Max and Dale Craig, and a sister, Phyllis Jean Steinman, and a daughter in law, Diane Craig.

Morris retired in 1990 from Clark Metal in Marion as a sales engineer. Before that he was a welder for the Ranger Company in Indiana.

He was a veteran of the US Navy having served during World War II, and a member of Prospect Street United Methodist Church in Marion.

For hobbies he enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, playing cards and traveling.

A memorial service for Morris W. Craig will be held at 2:00pm Sunday, November 5, 2017 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
