Howard De Witt - Class Of 1943

Howard Earl Dewitt, 64, Kokomo, died at 8:30 a.m. Jan. 16, 1990, in St. Joseph Hospital, Kokomo. He was born July 26,1925, in Otterbein, a son of Freddie, Marston and Doris Olive Goodlin Dewitt. He was married July 28, 1946, in Goshen to Thelma L. Frick, who survives. A veteran of World War II, Dewitt served in the Marine Corps. He was a charter member of Camden American Legion Post 413, a member of Logansport Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3790, Disabled American Veterans and Marine Corps League of Kokomo. Surviving with the wife are two daughters, Sandra Sue Grawcock of Galveston*and Rhinda Collins of Russiaville; two brothers, Merle Eugene and Donald Raymond Dewitt I, both of Kokomo; six sisters, Cecil Alice Rowe, Opal Margaret Moore, Zura Madge Brown and Kathryn Adaline Van Laiere, all of Lafayette, Helen Grace Simmerman of Camden, and Dorothy Viola Stark of Delphi; five grandchildren; and a greatgrandchild. Two brothers preceded him in death. Services were Saturday in Kokomo, with burial in Camden Cemetery
