Services for Martha L. Mocherman Cowell, 83, formerly of Heritage Health care in Lafayette, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Reinke Funeral Home, Flora.

She passed away at 6:55 a.m. Saturday Oct. 11, 2008, in St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

Born Oct. 9, 1925, in Carroll County, she was the daughter of William H. and Gladys Peterson Mocherman. She was married Dec. 7, 1953, to Thomas Logan Cowell, who preceded her in death on Aug. 25, 1987.

She was a 1944 graduate of Camden High School. She had worked at Spiegles in Logansport, Kokomo and Lafayette, and Monsanto and Essex Wire in Flora. 

She attended the Bringhurst United Methodist Church, was a charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary Eagles in Logansport and was a member of the Women of the Moose in Logansport.

She is survived by one son, Eugene Cowell and his wife, Mart, Camden; one daughter, FreDona Fausett and her husband Herman, Lafayette; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, David and Donald; one daughter, Corinna; and four brothers.

Burial will be in Burlington Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
