Robert Ringer - Class Of 1943

Bobby Walter Ringer, 70, of Monticello, died unexpectedly at 3:25 a.m. Aug. 27, 1996, at White County Memorial Hospital.
  Born Nov. 26, 1925, in Burrows, he was the son of Walter and Mary Layman Ringer.  His first marriage was in 1946 to Joan Yerkes, who died in 1971.  His second marriage was on Feb. 23, 1973, in Monticello, to Rosemary Hoover, who survives.
  He drove a gas truck for the Farm Bureau Co-op in Carroll County for 40 years.
  A resident of Monticello for 50 years, he was a member of the Monticello Presbyterian Church and was a deacon and member of the Benevolence Committee.
  He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars, both in Carroll County  He also was an active volunteer with the White County Food Pantry.
  Also surviving are two sons, James Robert Ringer of Fond du Lac, Wis., and Robert Spalding of Brookston; one daughter, Benita McClean of Idaville; two brothers, Harold Ringer of Burrows and Raymond Ringer of Camden; and five grandchildren.  One son and one brother are deceased.
  Services were Thursday in Monticello with burial in the Camden Cemetery.
  Memorials may be made to the White County Food Pantry or to the Presbyterian Church.
