Charles Rozhon - Class Of 1944

Charles E. Rozhon, 71, of Lafayette, died at 10:55 PM Wednesday, Aug. 5, 1998, at St. Vincent's Hospital of Indianapolis. Mr. Rozhon owned and operated Mertz Plumbing and Heating in Monticello, worked for A.E. Staley in Lafayette, retiring in 1983, and worked for Caldwell Banker. Born in North Judson on Nov. 19, 1926, he had lived in Lafayette for the past 20 years coming from Monticello. He was a 1944 graduate of Delphi High School. He married LaVonne Mertz on June 19, 1948, in Greentown. Mr. Rozhon was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and the American Legion in Delphi. He was a World War II Navy veteran, serving as a radioman. His hobbies were fishing, traveling, and watching sports. Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Laura Rozhon of Lafayette; two sons, Edward Rozhon of San Francisco, CA, and Kevin Rozhon of Lafayette; a sister, Kathleen Morgan of Delphi, a brother, Bill Rozhon of Radnor; and five grandchildren. Visitation Aug. 9 at Hippensteel Funeral Home with rosary service at 7:30 PM. Service at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Aug. 10, Father David Douglas officiating. Internment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
