Royce Adams

 Royce B. Adams, 60, 625 Essex St., West Lafayette, died Tues., Feb. 15, 1983, in St. Elizabeth Hospital.  He had been hospitalized three months and had been ill eight months.
  He was born and reared in Knox County and lived in Delphi before going to West Lafayette.  A 1940 graduate of Hymera High School, he received his B.A. degree from Indiana State Teachers College in 1946 and his M.S. from there in 1948.
  During World War II, he was a pilot and was a first lieutenant in the Army Air Corps.  He had been a member of the Air Force Reserves since 1946 and retired as a lieutenant colonel in 1982.
  For 10 years Adams was a math teacher at Delphi High School.  He had been teaching math at Harrison High School since 1969.
  He was a member and treasurer of St. Andrew United Methodist Church, West Lafayette.  He also was a member of the Tippecanoe Education Association, Indiana State Teachers Association and National Education Association.  His marriage in 1946 at Martinsville was to Juanita Clark.
  Surviving with the wife are one daughter, Leslie Cherry of Winter Park, Fla.; a son, R. Clark Adams of Boston, Mass.; a brother, Cifford L. Adams of Norfolk, Va.; and a sister, Arlena Lindsay of Martinsville.
  Friends may call today, Wednesday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Soller-Baker, West Lafayette Funeral Home.  The body will lie in state in St. Andrew United Methodist Church one hour prior to the 11 a.m. Thursday service with the Rev. Dr. Brian J. Witwer officiating.  Interment service will be at 3 p.m., Thursday, Nebo Memorial Park Cemetery, Martinsville.
