Betty Belle Reed (Farner) - Class Of 1939

DELPHI -- Betty B. Reed Farner, 90, of 615 N. Market St., Delphi, died at 12:45 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010, at her residence. She had battled cancer for the past year.

Born Sept. 5, 1920, in Delphi, she was the daughter of the late Ruth Reed. She attended Delphi High School.

On Sept. 26, 1948, she married Clifford F. "Ike" Farner in Lafayette, and he survives.

Mrs. Farner worked at the former Peters-Revington furniture factory in Delphi for 12 years, and was a homemaker. She and her husband lived at 1113 WN Washington St., Delphi, for 51 years before moving to their current address.

She was a member of Delphi Church of Christ, and enjoyed working puzzles and traveling.

Surviving with her husband are two daughters, Sue Adams (husband: Bill) of Delphi and Sandy Reaves (husband: Terry) of Buck Creek; three sons, Tom Dishon of Flora, Vern Dishon (wife: Vicky) and Robert Richter (wife: Carol), both of Monticello; and two sisters, Donna Stevens of Delphi and Marian Jones of Georgetown, Ky.

Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by 1 son, Randy. Betty dearly loved all her family, and enjoyed spending time with them.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. Saturday at Abbott Funeral Home, Delphi, Pastor Gilbert Kerrigan officiating. Interment at IOOF Memorial Gardens-Pittsburg.
