Mildred Sines (Waymire)

 Mildred E. "Millie" Sines Waymire, 89, of Delphi, died at 12:35 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2010, at Whispering Pines, Monticello.

Born May 13, 1921, in Delphi, she was the daughter of the late Robert Earl and Ocea Kirkpatrick Sines. She was a 1939 graduate of Delphi High School.

On Jan. 27, 1940, she married William Edward Waymire in South Bend, and he survives.

Mrs. Waymire worked as a cook at Delphi High School for more than 27 years. She also worked at Penguin Restaurant, which she and her husband co-owned with Dorothy and John Waymire.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Delphi for more than 79 years. She had received several pins for donating blood to the Red Cross.

She enjoyed listening to music and traveling the U.S., especially going to California and Florida, and playing the slot machines in Las Vegas. She loved spending time with her family.

Surviving with her husband are a daughter, Ginger McCain of Delphi; and a brother, Nelson Sines (wife: Pearl) of Delphi.

Also surviving are 3 granddaughters, Shannon O'Donnell, Lauren Waymire and Nicki McCain; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 sons, Ron and William Waymire; 5 sisters, Ruby Shultheis, Marjorie Goyer, Freda Goslee, Jane Wray and Mary Katherine Kerker; and 2 brothers, Ralph Sines and Elmer Watkins.

Mr. and Mrs. Waymire renewed their vows on Jan. 30, 2010, and celebrated their 70th anniversary.
