Robert E. High, 56, of Rt. 4, Delphi, died at 3:30 a.m. Saturday April 16, 1977, at his residence.  Death was attributed to an apparent heart attack.

  Born April 26, 1920, in Carroll County, he was the son of Raymond and Myrtle McGuire High.  He was married April 30, 1945, at Anniston, Ala., to Louise H. Poe, who survives.

  A veteran of World War II, he was employed by Globe Valve, Delphi, for over 35 years.  He was a member of the Delphi United Methodist Church, Whirly Twirlers square dance club and Harry Bohannon American Legion Post 75.

  Surviving with the wife are his mother of Delphi and a son, William R. High of Canogo Park, Calif.

  One brother preceded him in death.

  Services were Monday at the Thompson Funeral Home, Delphi, with the Rev. Donald Ashley officiating.  Burial was in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Flora.
