Charles Hallam - Class Of 1939

Charles Edward Hallam, 55, of Kokomo, died at 5:20 p.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Memorial Hospital following a one-year illness.
  Born July 28, 1920, in Yeoman, he was the son of Lowell and Gladys Shafer Hallam.  He was married in 1946 to Nellie Kirk, who survives.
  He was employed as a millwright at Delco Electronics and retired in April.  He also was employed by Indiana Bridge Company, Muncie.  He was a member of the United Auto Workers Local 292, UCT and the Catholic Church.
  Surviving with the wife are two sons, Charles Hallam of Indianapolis and James Hallam, at home; one daughter, Patricia Hallam, at home; four brothers, John Hallam of Oklahoma City, Okla., Richard Hallam of Kokomo, and Jack Hallam and Gene Hallam, both of Logansport; four sisters, Mrs. Eileen Shoff of Rt. 2, Flora, Mrs. Joan Wyse of Chandler, Okla., and Mrs. Margie Maxwell and Mrs. Doris Medley, both of Brookston, and two grandchildren.
  A daughter and two brothers preceded him in death.
  Services were Tuesday in Kokomo with burial in Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery.
