Raymond Brookshire - Class Of 1939

  Raymond Brookshire, son of William Henry Brookshire of Delphi, died of asphyxiation while on duty at sea, according to a telegram received here Monday.  Brookshire enlisted in the Navy in 1939, shortly after his graduation from Delphi High School.
  It is not known where or exactly when the fatal accident occurred, but it is believed that he was on duty in the Atlantic.
  The victim is survived by his father and seven sisters, Mrs. Harold Rees of Delphi, Mrs. Leonard Johnson of Attica, Mrs. Leonard Downing of Delphi, Mrs. Clyde Simmons of Logansport, Jule Etta Brookshire of Lafayette and Patty and Joan Brookshire of Logansport.
  The body is being returned to Delphi and is expected to arrive Wednesday or Thursday.  Funeral services will be held at the Blythe and Sons funeral home.
