Harold Cheeseman - Class Of 1939

 

  Harold Leroy Cheesman, Sr., 44, of route 1, Battle Ground, died at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette.  Cheesman never regained consciousness after being injured in an auto accident on Indiana 25 four miles east of Lafayette on June 23.

  Born October 15, 1921, in Logansport, he was the son of Edmond and Anna Frances Cripe Cheesman.  His marriage on October 12, 1940, was to Rosa Simmions, who survives.

  Cheesman had been employed the past eight years at Ross Gear Co. in Lafayette.  He was a member of the Pittsburg Church of the Brethren, was a veteran of World War II and had lived most of his life in the Delphi area.

  Surviving with the wife are the father of route 1, Battle Ground; three children, Leroy of route 1, Battle Ground; and James Allen and Brenda Lee, both at home; five sisters, Mrs. Alice Kenworthy, Mrs. Opal Dunn and Mrs. Ethel Wells of Delphi, Mrs. Carrie Miller of Kewanee and Mrs. Bertha Bowyer of Logansport; a brother, Walter of Attica; a stepbrother, James Sipes of Logansport, and five grandchildren.

  Service will be at Cornell Funeral Home in Delphi at 2 p.m. today (Thursday) with burial in the Pyrmont Cemetery.
