Robert Rohrobaugh - Class Of 1939

 Robert C. Rohrabaugh, 79, of Delphi, died at 8 a.m. May 30, 2000 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center.  He had been a resident there since May 22 and in ill health the past six years.
  Born Dec. 30, 1920, in Carroll County, he was the son of Ernest and Maud Oles Rohrabaugh.  His marriage was to Edna R. Sisson in Lafayette on Feb. 20, 1941, and she survives.
  Mr. Rohrabaugh, worked for 18 years as a custodian for the Delphi Middle Schools, retiring in 1989.  He previously worked at the former RCA plant in Monticello for five years.  He also farmed in Tippecanoe and Carroll counties for nine years.
  A 1939 graduate of Delphi High School, he served in the U.S. Army Infantry during World War II. from 1942 to 1944.  He was stationed in the European theater.
  He was a member of the Delphi American Legion Post #75 and enjoyed flower gardening.
  Also surviving are one son, Charles Rohrabaugh of Petersburg; a daughter, Linda Simmons of San Antonio, Texas; a sister, Martha Belle Temple of Delphi; five grandchildren; three step grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four ste great-grandchildren.  A brother preceded him in death.
  Services were Thursday at Abbott Funeral Home, Delphi, with Rev. R. Clayton Kendall officiating.  Burial was at the Masonic Cemetery, Delphi, with Delphi American Legion military rites.
