David Wood - Class Of 1944

David A. Wood, 63, of Delphi, died at 10:55 p.m. July 6, 1990, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette, where he had been a patient for four days.
  Born Sept. 24, 1926, in Delphi, he was the son of Charles A. "Chilly" and Opal M. Berry Wood.  His marriage was on June 24, 1945, in Delphi to Marilyn Hubbard.  She preceded in death on May 28, 1987.
  He was a 1944 graduate of Delphi High School and had attended Purdue University for one year.  He was an Army veteran of WW II.  Wood retired in June 1988 from Alltel Indiana where he had been employed for 42 years.  The company was formerly Carroll Telephone Company.
  He was a member of Delphi United Methodist Church, Delphi American Legion Post #75 and had served on the Volunteer Delphi Tri-Twp. Fire Department for over 30 years.
  Surviving are a daughter, Rebecca Clear of Camden, and a son, David A. Wood, Jr., Columbia, S.C.; his mother, Opal of Delphi; two brothers, Charles A. Wood and William A. Wood, both of California, and five grandchildren.
  Services were today at Horn Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Ellwood Smith officiating.  Burial with American Legion Rites was in Masonic Cemetery.
  Memorials may be made to Carroll County Cancer Association.

Gerald (Jake) Clear (1981)

Dad is so missed he has been gone over 22 years now , he was a wonderful person and funny, his dry humor was hilarious he tryed his best and gave all his love dad I miss you. Love Becky Wood Clear
