Marjorie Todd (Pearson) - Class Of 1940

Marjorie May Pearson, 84, of Monticello and formerly of rural Carroll County, passed away May 28, 2007, at 8:25 p.m. at Twin Lakes Village Nursing Home in Monticello.
Mrs. Pearson was born Aug. 21, 1922, in Carroll County, to George J. and Jessie Julien Todd.  She married Charles E. Pearson on April 4, 1942, in Carroll County.  He preceded her in death Dec. 2, 1989.
She was a 1940 graduate of Delphi High School.  She and her husband moved to the family farm at the top of Carrollton Hill after their marriage.
In January 2006, she left her home of 64 years to move to the former Lakeview Commons Assisted Living Center, now known as Crown Pointe of Monticello.  There she was quickly named "The Welcome Lady" because she helped new residents adjust to their surroundings.
Mrs. Pearson was a faithful member of Hickory Grove Church for 62 years, where she served in many capacities.  She was a wonderful seamstress and made clothes, prom dresses, wedding gowns and Barbie clothes for her daughters and nieces.
She also worked with crafts and baked.  Many friends were recipients of her yeast rolls and coconut cream pies.
Travel was another of her interests.  Mrs. Pearson visited Europe, Nova Scotia, Alaska, Hawaii, the Caribbean and most of the continental United States.
Her greatest treasure was her family.
Surviving are three daughters, Patricia Cotner (husband: Paul) and Lonetta Felz (husband: Ron), all of Delphi, and Janyth Clemons (husband: Brad) of Macy; seven grandchildren, Rodney Dimmitt, Bradley Dimmitt (wife: Heather), Danielle Wharff (husband: Chad), Bryan Felz (wife: Stephenie), Joseph Felz, Jamie Campbell and Melissa Campbell; 10 great-grandchildren; two nieces; and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond J. Todd.
Visitation will be May 31 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Miller-Roscka Funeral Home in Monticello.  Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service, which will be June 1 at 10:30 a.m. at Hickory Grove Church in rural Carroll County, officiated by Pastor Ken Smith.  Burial will be at Hickory Grove Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Hickory Grove Church Haiti Fund.  Envelopes are available at the church and funeral home.
