Hobart C. Hanaway, 67, Flora, died at 6:10 p.m. March 29, 1990, at Home Hospital, Lafayette.
He was born in Camden Aug. 17, 1922, a son of George and Louva Jones Hanaway, Sr. On Jan. 18, 1947, he was married to Betty Jane Kelly, who died July 1, 1989.
A 1940 graduate of Delphi High School, he was a veteran of the United States Navy, where he served in World War II. He was the self-emloyed owner of Hanaway Plumbing and Heating for 30 years. He was a member of Flora First Christian Church, the Masonic Lodge in Flora, and Delphi VFW Post.
Surviving are one son, Larry E., Indianapolis; two daughters, Debra Lynn Hanaway, Monticello, and Kathy Jane Stonebreaker, Georgetown, Texas; two brothers, Carl (Pete), Delphi, and George Jr. (Tuffy), Camden; three sisters, Mary Disinger, Delphi, Beverly Hammelman, Delphi, and Sally Walters, Rockfield; and three grandchildren. One brother and one sister preceded in death.
Services were held Sunday in Cree Funeral Home with burial and military rites in Camden Cemetery. The Rev. Gary West officiated.
