Gene A. Maxwell

BATTLE GROUND - Gene A. Maxwell, 62, a Route 1, Battle Ground, farmer, died unexpectedly at 5:20 p.m. Wednesday in the emergency room of St. Elizabeth Hospital.

Born in 1922, in Lafayette, he was a 1940 graduate of Delphi High School. Mr. Maxwell had operated the family farm most of his life. During World War II, he served in the Navy Air Corps.

He was a member of the Delphi United Methodist Church.

His marriage was in 1942, in Napolean, Ohio, to Wilma Conard. She survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Linda L. Maxwell of Lafayette; his mother, Margaret Gilliam Maxwell of Flora Brethren Home; and one brother, Robert M. Maxwell of Route 1, Delphi.
