Audrey L. Smith, 92, Monticello, passed away at 12:42 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014, at the St. Elizabeth East Hospital in Lafayette.
She was born on July 4, 1922, in Yeoman (Carroll County), to the late Jess Marquess, and Opal Marie (Bunnel) Marquess. On April 5, 1941, in Idaville, she married Robert Dale "Bob" Smith; he passed away on Feb. 26, 1999.
Audrey was a 1940 graduate of Delphi High School. She had lived in the Monticello community most her life.
Audrey was a member of the Monticello Christian Church. She loved praying, cooking, dancing, sewing, gardening, and especially all of her grandchildren.
Surviving are daughter, Alexis "Lexie" (Gerrie) Baer, Monticello; grandchildren, Alexis "Lexie" (Gerrie) Baer's children", Nick Foltz, Kokomo, Chris (Michelle) Baer, Delphi, Tiffany Baer, Lafayette, and Tonya (John) Dulin, Lafayette; Robert Dale "Bob" Smith's children", Bobby Smith, Iowa, Tim, Mark, and Christina Smith, all of Orlando, Fla.; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, Jess Marquess, Opal Marie (Bunnel) and Grover Mulligan; husband, Robert Dale "Bob" Smith Sr.; son, Robert Dale "Bob" Smith, Jr.; brother, Charles Mulligan; and sister, Betty Rogers.
Visitation will be from 2 - 4 p.m. Saturday at the Monticello Christian Church, 105 Gordon Road, Monticello. Celebration of Life service will be at the church at 4 p.m. Saturday with Rev. Chris Dodson of the Monticello Christian Church officiating.
Burial will follow at the I.O.O.F. Riverview Cemetery in rural Monticello.
Memorials may be given to the Monticello Christian Church. Envelopes will be available at the church.
