Robert Thompson - Class Of 1940

  Robert H. Thompson, 66, of Rt. 3, Delphi, died at 11:15 p.m. Oct. 7, 1988, at his residence.  He had been ill the past year.
  Born March 24, 1922, in Roselawn, he was the son of Ross A. and Roselyn Swartzel Thompson.  He was married Feb. 2, 1947, in Delphi, to Virginia Ratcliff, who survives.
  He owned and operated Thompson TV & Repair in Delphi for 33 years, retiring in 1980.  He built homes in the Delphi community from 1980-1985.
  He was a 1940 graduate of Delphi High School and served in the Army Air Corps in World War II.
  He was a member of the Delphi First Presbyterian Church.
  Surviving with his wife are three, sons, Steven L. Thompson and David R. Thompson, both of Delphi; and John R. Thompson of Lafayette; one daughter, Carol Mitchell of Delphi; a brother, Lee Thompson of Delphi; a sister, Ruth Walters of Delphi; 10 grandchildren and two step grandchildren,.  He was preceded in death by one sister.
  Services were Monday at Horn Funeral Home with Rev. Ellis Gasser officiating.  Burial was in Masonic Cemetery. Delphi.
